Synopsis A 30-minute dance filled with vibrant colours and energy of the Malay culture in Singapore. Malay royal court dances, Zapin, Tari Remaja Ria, Tari Payung and Joget Rentri Kasih are some of the dances that will be featured in this programme!
Getai Magic! by Esther Ng and Lee Pei Fen

Synopsis A getai is usually a boisterous live stage performance held during the Hungry Ghost Festival common to Singapore and Malaysia. The performers would normally don loud and glittery clothing and croon famous songs. Watch these two young rising stars of the Singapore getai scene!
Macpherson Nusantara Orchestra & Siglap Nusantara Orchestra by Macpherson Primary School and Siglap Secondary School

Synopsis A combination of Macpherson Primary School and Siglap Secondary School’s Angklung and Kulintang Ensemble and Gamelan Ensemble, the two ensembles consist of members from a melting pot of students from different communities. Indeed a performance worth watching!
Feelin’ Good with NANU by NANU

Kuchupudi & Mohini Attam by SYAMA

Synopsis Immerse yourself in these two beautiful and intricate dances that will engage all your five senses. Kuchupudi is a classical Indian dance which originated from Andra Pradesh. A form of dance drama, the performance usually begins with some stage rites, after which each of the character comes on to the stage and introduces him/herself with a daru (a small composition of both song and dance) to introduce the identity and set the mood of the character in the drama, before the drama begins. Mohini Attam, which is a dance form from Kerala, means ‘dance of the enchantress’ and is performed by women. The main theme of the dance is love and devotion to God, with usually Vishnu or Krishna being the hero.
Snow Lion Dance by Wenyang Sports Association (Singapore)

Synopsis This pair of lion is pure white in colour, hence giving them the name of “Snow Lion”. This Northern style of lion dance is specially choreographed to move to the rhythm of familiar Chinese songs, “Hao Han Ge”. The song when translated into English means the “Song of The Brave Warriors”. This dance has only been performed once during the National Championship and was widely commended by members of the public.

Samba Masala’s winning recipe of hot music and high energy performances has brought it to the pinnacle of performing arts.
Tinikling Bamboo Dance & Igorot Tribe Dance by The OFW Pinoy Star Philippines Dance Troupe

Synopsis The dance troupe usually performs the tinikling bamboo dance, an indigenous dance from the Philippines. It involves two people hitting bamboo poles, using them to beat, tap and slide on the ground and against each other in coordination with one or more dancers who step over and in between the poles in a dance. The name is a reference to birds locally known as Tikling, which can be any of a number of Rail species; the term tinikling literally means “tikling-like”. The troupe rose to prominence with its performance of the Igorot tribe dance, which originated from the Cordillera region of the Philippines.
