| Synopsis | From sarong to saris, from the cheong sam to the ao dai, Singapore is certainly at the crossroads of the world of fashion. Though most Singaporeans do not wear their traditional dress every day, they do indulge in dressing up every now and then, especially during important occasion such as weddings, birthday celebrations or the New Year. These dresses are often worn traditional; they can also be “inspired” from the traditional wear. Some people would even cross-reference between cultures to design something more adventurous. This exclusive fashion show will showcase a range of clothes that are traditional, inspired by the traditional as well as the forward-looking. |

| Synopsis | One of Japan's southern prefectures, Okinawa has a distinctive culture shaped by its past as an independent kingdom and trading nation. Performing folk arts are an integral part of Okinawan life, often featured at events such as harvest and fertility festivals. These folk dances are performed as a celebration, in prayer or simply to bring hope and happiness. The performance will also feature the colourful Bon Odori dance, a Japanese Buddhist folk dance performed outdoors and danced in a concentric circle. "Bon-Odori" or Bon dance, a religious folk dance, was originally given to comfort the spirit of the dead during the o-bon season. |
