| Synopsis | The shaving of the newborn baby's hair is encouraged in Islam. The shavings are weighed in silver and the value of that amount is then donated to the poor. This ritual is practiced in the Malay community and is usually done as a form of celebration ending with a "kenduri" or feast. This showcase will present the "Upacara Cukur Rambut" or "the shaving of the new-born baby's hair" as one of the rites of passage for the Malay child. |

Brought to you by one of the few local mask changers, Mr Choy Yien Chow, watch how his masked expressions transit in the blink of an eye seamlessly. This unique craft originated from Chinese Sichuan opera with a history dating back more than 300 years. The vivid colours and make-up of each mask represents different moods of a character. |

| Synopsis | The dance troupe usually performs the tinikling bamboo dance, an indigenous dance from the Philippines. It involves two people hitting bamboo poles, using them to beat, tap and slide on the ground and against each other in coordination with one or more dancers who step over and in between the poles in a dance. The name is a reference to birds locally known as Tikling, which can be any of a number of Rail species; the term tinikling literally means “tikling-like”. The troupe rose to prominence with its performance of the Igorot tribe dance, which originated from the Cordillera region of the Philippines. |

Vaibhavam refers to God’s incredible and breath taking actions and divine illusions that prove his greatness. “ Vaibhavam”, deals with the attributes and glorious deeds of Lord. |
