25 July 2009 (Free but registration is required), 8am – 12pm and 9am – 1pm
The Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research at NUS and Reflections at Bukit Chandu (NAS) invite you to join the Raffles Museum Toddycats on a four-hour walk between Kent Ridge and Pasir Panjang. You will learn about the plants, animals, people, names and history of the area that includes many lesser-known secrets.
One story we will explore this year is of the villagers along the coast whose strong relationship held them together in turbulent times, defying the efforts of agent provocateurs to provoke mischief. The walk which begins at the Raffles Museum ends at Reflections at Bukit Chandu and the story of the Malay Regiment with a discussion about the lessons from the relationship of the men who fought so valiantly on these grounds.
